Every Christian Scientist experiences a moment, when talking to a non-Christian Scientist, where the language we use (a language that we all learn from Mrs. Eddy) seems to completely confuse the individual we are talking to. 100 years after our textbook was finalized, the language can seem archaic and outdated. To the contrary, however, Mrs. Eddy painstaking and carefully developed a scientific language with which to understand and communicate the metaphysics of Divine Science. During this conversation we will explore the nature of the scientific language and why it is still important to use the language as it was first laid down in Mrs. Eddy's writings.

Dr. Alex Cavalli, Ph.D. has had many careers: plasma physicist, researching controlled nuclear fusion; technologist, developing computer models for semiconductors; early electronic commerce research including development of one of the first internet search engines, web browsers, and shopping carts; the design and manufacture of world-class high-end headphone amplifiers as Cavalli Audio.
Alex Cavalli’s greatest joy has come from developing and delivering live performances of The Gospel of St. John and Paul, Face to Face, taken from the King James Translation of the Bible. These performances and the response to them led Alex to helping others read the spiritual text of Christian Science – particularly the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy. Alex coaches individuals from around the world. He has served as First Reader and is an occasional substitute for both Readers.
